Yes, we are still here! I apologize for the lack of posts the past few months. We have a lot of project in the works right now.

1.) We are working on building a new warehouse facility. This facility will allow us to offer more products at lower prices than ever before! We will be located about 3 miles from our current location, our new facility would be at Interstate 10 and Hwy 255 or Exit #262 in Madison County Florida, (Lee, FL). We hope to be in this new facility by Mid 2008. Madison County is Located along I-10 between, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee.

2.) We also have been working on new website design and functions. We hope to unveil it in Beta mode by the end of September. Check back here or watch our newsletter for notification when the new improved website is available.

3.) We also have been adding many new products that will be listed on the new website. Watch our blog and newsletter for more details to come soon.

USPS Priority Mail Shipping Increase - How is Fastpack dealing with this increase?

As many of you already know, the United States Postal Service is not only increasing rates on Priority Mail, and their other services, but also going to a Dimensional Weight system also (to zones 5-8). Any package over 1 cubic foot, (a 12"x12"x12" box is 1 cubic foot), would be measured to determine it's Dimensional weight, and the higher of the two would be charged, either dimensional or actual weight.

We have had many customers contact us, concerned about how this increase would affect their shipping costs on the shipping supplies purchased from us. How are we handling the increase? Will there be any increases?; Yes, and NO.

Lets start with good news, NO shipping increases are expected on ANY of our products.(Except to our customers in AK & HI & PR, sorry, see below for more information.)

We have negotiated lower shipping rates with a couple of Ground delivery companies and will be shipping items that previously shipped via Priority mail, via these ground services. This includes our Bubble Wrap rolls, and Peanuts, along with any other products that have in the past shipped via Priority mail. A few items will still ship Priority Mail, but only these items not effected by the increase. You will start to see changes to each page on our website showing which method of delivery each product or product line will ship. All items that have shipped via Ground Delivery in the past, will still ship via Ground, with no increase. Reminder, customers on the west coast that in the past have received their Priority mail packages in 3 days, may take approximately 5 business days via Ground delivery. The remainder of the our customers should receive items in 1-4 days.

To our customers in AK, HI & PR, there have been some slight increases to some items, we are still working on possible solutions to lower shipping rates to your states.

Daylight savings time starts March 11 2007 - (3 Weeks Early)

Just a quick note reminding you that Daylight Savings Time (DST) starts 3 weeks early this year.

Electronic equipment that was programmed before 2005 thinks daylight savings starts on first Sunday in April, not March 11. This change will affect everything from Computers, to Time Clocks, to PDA's, Alarm Clocks, to DVR's, Cell Phones, and Time controlled thermostats, etc., that were programmed/built prior to the change made to DST in 2005.

Sealed Air Announces Three Student Finalists in Inaugural Bubble Wrap® Competition for Young Inventors

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J., Monday, January 9, 2007 – Sealed Air Corporation (NYSE:SEE), the creator of Bubble Wrap® brand cushioning, today announced the three finalists in the first-ever Bubble Wrap® Competition for Young Inventors.

All three finalists will be flown to New York City to celebrate Bubble Wrap® Appreciation Day on January 29th, at which time the Grand Prize Winner will be announced and receive a $10,000 savings bond. The 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive $5,000 and $3,000 respectively in savings bonds.

The competition, which encouraged students in grades 5 through 8 throughout the United States to demonstrate their creativity and ingenuity by designing an invention that incorporated the use of Bubble Wrap® cushioning, attracted nearly 800 entries from 38 states. Students were invited to submit original inventions along with a visual and written description that included the name of the invention, the purpose it serves, how it works and how the idea was formulated.

The three finalists selected, and listed in alphabetical order, are as follows:

Alex Chalcraft, 13, Gilbert, Arizona – “The Easy Check Chore Chart” – Chore chart that embodies the fun of popping Bubble Wrap® cushioning while engaging children to stay focused and complete their daily chores. The chart lists a series of weekly tasks and allows children to pop a bubble each time they complete a chore.

Megan Guerrero, 13, San Angelo, Texas – “The Empire State Building: A Three-Dimensional Construction Project” – A creative work of art and clever architectural puzzle that presents a fun and educational way to learn about one of the world's most famous buildings. This three-dimensional puzzle uses custom-cut pieces of Bubble Wrap® cushioning to build a 2.5 foot replica of the Empire State Building.

Grayson Rosenberger, 14, Nashville, Tennessee – “Bubble Wrap® Cosmetic Covering Shell for Artificial Legs in Developing Countries” – A cost-effective, cosmetic skin covering for an artificial leg designed to conceal the prosthetic limb and create the appearance of muscle tone. This Bubble Wrap® cushioning-based alternative to much more expensive cosmetic coverings is intended to give a sense of self-confidence to prosthetic patients in developing countries.

"We commend and applaud the inventions of our ten semi-finalists, as well as the nearly 800 other students who entered this year's Bubble Wrap® Competition for Young Inventors," stated William V. Hickey, Sealed Air’s President and Chief Executive Officer. "While determining the top finalists was quite a challenge for our panel of judges, three entries did stand out for their exceptional achievements in the areas of creativity, usefulness, benefit to society and feasibility. Submissions were judged in coordination with the National Museum of Education and ranked based on several criteria including originality, creativity, usefulness, benefit to society, marketability and feasibility, as well as overall presentation. Entries received ranged from a Bubble Wrap® saddle cushion and portable candy packaging to an instrument case and fish tank decor.
